Held under the theme “Mission Possible”, this year’s celebration highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction and teamwork while reflecting GTBankSL’s vibrant culture and dedication to excellence.

The week kicked off with a bold blend of professionalism and flair. Staff stepped out in vibrant corporate wear, adding a colorful twist to their usual office attire. The atmosphere was upbeat, and branches radiated confidence and readiness. It was a statement that service begins not just with competence but with presence.

On Tuesday, Staff swapped suits for jeans and jerseys, bringing sporty energy to the workplace. Jerseys from local and international teams filled the room with friendly banter. It was a day that highlighted team spirit, reminding everyone that success in customer service is a team game.

Wednesday was a walk down memory lane. From flared trousers to retro hairstyles, staff embraced classic styles from past decades. The vintage vibe added nostalgia to the air, reminding both staff and customers of how far the bank has come, and how solid values never go out of fashion.

Sleek, classy, and modern; Thursday’s theme combined timeless formal wear with the comfort of sneakers. The look symbolized GTBankSL’s philosophy: professionalism with a modern, dynamic edge. Staff looked sharp, felt confident, and served customers with extra flair.

The week ended on a high note with a colorful celebration of Sierra Leone’s diverse cultures. Staff dressed in traditional outfits representing the nation’s rich ethnic heritage. The day was filled with warmth, pride, and unity. Customers were greeted in local languages, reinforcing GTBankSL’s deep-rooted connection with the communities it serves.

GTBank Sierra Leone Welcomes Daniel Attah as the New Managing Director, Bids Farewell to Ade Adebiyi


Guaranty Trust Bank (SL) Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Attah as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer effective 12th May 2025.

Attah’s appointment, approved by the Central Bank of Sierra Leone, follows his nomination by the Board of GTBank Sierra Leone and Guaranty Trust Company PLC. He succeeds Ade Adebiyi, who has completed his tenure.

With over 25 years of banking experience, Attah brings extensive expertise in Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Treasury, Risk Management and Banking Operations. He previously served as Executive Director Technology and Operations of GTBank Gambia and General Manager, GTBank Ghana where he contributed to the transformational growth in retail banking, operations and Technology.

Attah holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a Master of Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Nigeria. He is also a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and has attended various Managerial and leadership trainings.

GTBank Sierra Leone Dismisses Fake Social Media Posts of Closure


Guaranty Trust Bank SL Ltd (GTBank) has issued a strong rebuttal against a “spurious” social media post circulating online.

The post alleges that the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) is poised to shut down GTBank’s operations due to alleged falsification of accounts and conspiracy.

In a notice released today, May 6, 2025, the Bank categorically stated that the claim is “completely false and is designed to bring the image of the Bank and its officers to disrepute.”

GTBank emphasized that while it would not engage in public disputes with every media report, it “will not hesitate to pursue legal action for defamation against our brand or for inaccurate reporting.”

The Bank moved to reassure the public of its unwavering commitment to ethical practices. As a “industry leader with more than twenty years of operation in this esteemed country,” GTBank stated it “adhere[s] to strong corporate governance and strictly comply[ies] with both national laws and the policies set forth by our regulators,” including the BSL.

GTBank strongly urged its customers and the general public to “completely disregard this unfounded allegation.” The Bank reiterated its commitment to “maintaining the highest ethical standards and will never partake in any unethical practices.”

The notice concluded with a message of gratitude to the public for their “continued support and trust.”

The week-long event showcased the bank’s commitment to providing exceptional service and building strong relationships within the community.

The celebration kicked off with a Career Day, where staff members dressed in attire representing various professions symbolizing the deep connection between the bank and its diverse clientele. On Tuesday, staff members wore the national Green White and Blue colors of Sierra Leone to express their patriotism and solidarity with the country.

The Product Showcase Day featured staff members dressed in T-shirts showcasing the bank’s innovative products and services, including 9737, GTWorld, Salary Loan, Mastercard, Smart Kids Save (SKS), and more. This event allowed customers to learn about the various banking solutions offered by GTBank and how they can benefit from them.

Thursday brought back the nostalgia of the 80s with staff members sporting iconic fashion trends of the era. This fun-filled event provided a lighthearted atmosphere and a chance for customers to reminisce about the past.

The week culminated with a Traditional Day, where staff members dressed in traditional attire to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Sierra Leone. This event highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the country’s cultural diversity.

As a grand finale, GTBank held a Dip and Win draw where 30 customers won exciting prizes, including mugs and keyholders. This gesture was a token of appreciation for the bank’s customers and a way to show that their loyalty and support are valued.

One of the winners, Joseph Fofanah, expressed his gratitude and initial skepticism when he received the call from GTBank informing him of his win. He initially believed it was a fraudulent attempt but later confirmed the authenticity of the call with a bank staff member. Fofanah encouraged other customers to continue banking with GTBank to benefit from its many offerings.

Another winner, Memunatu Dumbuya, shared a similar experience of disbelief when she received the winning call. She initially ignored the call but later followed up and confirmed her win. Dumbuya expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

Victor Cleveland, Head of Retail Banking, explained that the ‘Kip for D Bambai’ raffle is designed to reward customers who make a minimum deposit of NLE 250. He encouraged customers with dormant accounts to activate them and non-customers to open new accounts to participate in future draws.

GTBank and CAFOD Boost Financial Inclusion for Women and Girls in Sierra Leone


Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) and Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) have successfully concluded their three-year collaboration as part of the Women and Girls FIRST financial inclusion project, funded by Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA).

This initiative has made significant strides in Kenema, Port Loko, and Kambia districts, recruiting 150 “Financial Champions” from project project Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs).

These champions have been registered and trained as GTBank mobile banking agents to support remote communities across eight chiefdoms, boosting financial inclusion.

The Women and Girls FIRST project aims to improve financial access and resilience for women and girls in these regions.

This year’s edition promises even more exciting prizes for new and existing customers who make fresh deposits and maintain them in their accounts within each month through the campaign.

GTBank’s Head of Retail Banking, Victor Cleveland, explained the participation process, saying customers simply need to deposit and save money in their accounts to qualify for the chance to win.

He said: “This promotion is open to both new and existing customers. To be eligible, customers can deposit and maintain balances ranging from NLe 250 to NLe 25,000. For new or existing customers without a GTBank MasterCard, they can obtain one instantly and use it at least 3 times in a month. Furthermore, inactive and zero balance accounts can participate by depositing and maintaining NLe 250 or more monthly.

“During the grand draw, all existing customers who maintain the highest new balance exceeding NLe 25,000 over the six months will be eligible.”
