Dr. Ekundayo Walton Gilpin Awarded at 9th SLAAM Lifetime Achievement Awards for Leadership and Service to Humanity


The Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr. Ekundayo Walton Gilpin (COOR), has on June 7th 2024 been bestowed with a prestigious award for his exceptional leadership and dedicated service to humanity at the 9th Sierra Leone Association of Artists and Musicians (SLAAM) Awards held in the United States on June 7th, 2024. The accolade was presented by Min. Amb. Gilleh Kebbie Scholz, President of SLAAM AWARDS.

The president of SLAAM AWARDS, also the CEO of Giileh Global Productions (GGP), a media production, talent branding, and marketing company, has demonstrated years of expertise in bringing out the best in individuals and their endeavors.

The SLAAM Awards annually convenes a diverse and talented group of individuals from around the world to showcase their dreams and aspirations. This year marks the ninth edition of the event, which has been honoring legends in various artistic categories for their lifelong contributions to their respective fields.



The nomination and voting process, overseen by the SLAAM Planning Team, ensures that only the best candidates are considered for the awards. Over the past eight years, the event has seen significant participation, with 300k votes cast in six days on the event website in 2023.

The 2024 SLAAM Lifetime Achievement Awards featured eminent personalities such as Yvonne E. Clarke (Humanitarian), Bosca Banks (Music), Felix Sandy (Sports), Vicky Fornah Hassan (Gospel), Alimatu Bateh Sangarie-Sammarie (Humanitarian), Pastor Bai Sesay (Leadership), Joseph Okito Nelson-Edwin (Comedy), Joseph Musa (Excellence), and Mohamed Mansaray (Theatre).
